Default Studio Designer / builder

Doing a little research for the bossman...

Can anyone suggest a Studio Designer?
The space is going to be 1,500 - 2,500 sq. ft.

Whoever you suggest does not have to be NYC based but should know and have had experience with all of the ins and outs of NYC studio construction.

Links, names, numbers.

Thanks, Andy

Hey, and while I am thinking about it...

There are a lot of studios on high floors here. Does that affect your hearing negatively?

I can imagine having a great mix, running downstairs for lunch, and then returning to a different sound. Yes? No?

Andyo, I mix on the second floor all the time with no adverse effects.

For Studio Design, pick up the latest copy of Mix magazine and take your pick.

Live in Texas,
Esteban.

High floors help with traffic noise, especially the "rumble" so altitude may be a plus.

Tracking and Mixing rooms or just mixing? I 2nd the MixMag info.

We loved working with Russ Berger of Russ Berger Design group. We have nothing but great things to say about him and his company.

there are lots of great studio designers. I knor Mark Genfan, and Russ both. Russ is world class. A little advice is to find someone local. Since you are in NY that will be easy. John Storyk comes to mind. Flying these guys out 3 or 4 times in the course of building gets expensive. Someone local can use their own contractors who have built their studios and can check on progress day to day instead of once a month

RBDG (Russ Berger Design Group) designed a new facility for me 2-1/2 years ago. A sincere group of people who will put as much energy and enthusiasm into a small project as a big one. I called around to the names you'll find easily in all the industry publications. No one came close to RDBG's friendly, enthusiastic approach to designing something that was totally for me and my business plan/client profile instead of their portfilio. Not cheap; but worth every penny and more. You will not have done your research if you don't at least call them.
