Default XPAND2 routing issue and fine tune?

Toolers,
Ok here is the problem im having with xpand2 (free) that came with protools 8
Problem #1 : Changing the volume on one midi track effects all four instruments with in Xpand2

What I did.
1. I have Xpand2 instantiated in a stereo instrument track. I opened it up and assigned each of the four instruments to different midi channels 1,2,3,4 and assigned instruments.

2. Created 4 midi channels right clicked the output below "ALL" and assigned it to the appropriate midi channel Xpand2 1-1 ect..

but if I turn up or down a fader in any of the midi channels it effects all of them

Problem #2
Why come it is that when I instantiate ( i like that word) an Xpand instrument the "Fine Tune" Control is cranked all the way sharp.. is it a pref?

My vitals:

Mac 2.66 Core Duo
2 Gigs of Ram
OSX Version 10.6.2
your mommas fat
Protools 8.03r
Mbox2

any ideas

Problem #1 has been an issue for a while. No solution.

Problem #2 you are running an unsupported OS and might cause issues 'til Qualified.

Well, I just verified the issue on a qualified system. Sure there are workarounds with CCs, but it is more steps. It would be nice to designate a midi track fader to assign to, control, and record CC data.

This is where I found the steps to do the routing

I noticed after watching it again he controls the volume via xpand2.. so then I ask why even make the midi tracks if they are useless might as well just use xpand2s mixer... im sure there is a reason just dont know what it is.

Sorry, that would be prob # 1. As for prob #2, Xpand's fine tune knob is @ 12:00, so that's fine. Back to #1, as Filo says, use the levels on Xpand for individual part volume.

In Master Tracks Pro, you could map a fader to a CC. Digi might want to implement that feature.
