Question Very busy, would like to upgrade to 8.0 should I?

Hello Fellow DUC'ers,

I am buzzing along great with Good Ole' PTLE 7.3.1cs4
on a imac 2.16 Core 2 Duo
Running OSX 10.4.11
My interface is a 003 factory
2 gigs of RAM
Firewire 800 drives
plugs include:
Waves_Gold, SSL
SoundToys Native bundle 3.0
AutoTune EVO
Breverb (latest version)
Oxford inflator
T-rax master suite (the original bundle, not the new)
Ozone 3
Drumagog 1.0
The Music Production Toolkit (again, the original)

I purchased a copy of Leopard and the new PTLE 8.0. Am I crazy to install this right now?

How much of a hassle has this been?

Thanks a ton!

Chad

Give it a while. I just went back to 7.4 from 8.0 for technical reasons. Not saying you'll have a problem but I'd wait till they work the bugs out. I forgot how great it was to work on a session from start to finish and not have a single error pop up.

I'm with Josh,I have several machines so did not run 8 on mission critical projects until entirely sure all my set-ups were OK. If you have a less critical 2nd machine then sell your bed and buy 8, you'll have a scream!

Thanks guys. I was leaning toward waiting, now I'm sure that I will.

Happy Mixing!

Worked like a charm for me but I don't have much in the way of RTAS plugins. One random crash so far. AIR plugs seems really slow to start but I dunno if that's just the way they are.
