7.4 cs7 crashing on launch

Hi,

I did, of course, search first. I'm guessing I'm not alone but couldn't find anything and after several hours of searching, experimenting and restarting, I turn to you oh, mighty DUC.

Got 7.4 downloaded, got windows updated (after vague error during installation), got it installed, never ran 7.4.0, instead went ahead and installed the cs7 update. Installed fine, restarted. Double click the icon, with excitement.... and fail. "Pro Tools Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."

This happens before I see any sort of Pro Tools splash screen so I can't pin point a plugin or something. I didn't quite do everything from the general troubleshooting thread yet but quite a bit of it, including trashing databases and dae prefs, updating pace drivers, and ensuring xp startup/background processes are as minimal as possible.

EventType : InPageError P1 : c000009c P2 : 00000003 is under details on the error dialog.

My general specs are:
002r, 7.4cs7
xp pro sp2, all critical updates completed
eMachines m6811
athlon 64 3400+ @ 2.2ghz
1.25g of ram

pt7.1 was running great yesterday.

I uninstalled pro tools and reinstalled the original 7.4 exe and all is fine. Still not sure why it didn't work.
