Default clicks and pops

I use an mbox and I notice clicks and pops on my tracks. Does anyone know what these are and how to avoid them?

Thanks, Mark

This clip is riddled with them. It's not because of any conversion, because it's on the original audio track.

Do you have XP service pak 1 installed? It is a must.

Listing your system's specs might help us help you.

When I download that file to my hard drive, I only hear a couple of clicks; one at about 47 seconds, and one at 1:58 or so.

Are those the clicks that you're talking about?

Tell me what brand/model PC you have.
what processor does it use? (Pentium? Athlon? Athlon 64?)
What other hardware does it have? (modem? Network card? wireless? additional sound card?)
How do you have the mBox connected? Are there other USB ports that you can try?
You're only recording to the one hard drive? (it is recommended that you use a separate dedicated physical drive for audio; might be the cause of your troubles, if so)
