Default Can 2022.9 be installed alongside older versions?

I can't find the post, but I thought I'd read a comment where someone implied that 2022.7 couldn't be installed alongside older versions of Pro Tools like in the past.

I'm currently on 2022.6. Can anyone confirm if it is still safe to make a duplicate of the current version when updating to 2022.9? I'd like to be able to go back to 2022.6 if there is a problem.

Thanks!

Yes, if you’re on a Mac you can install multiple versions.

Before you install the other version you need to rename the version you currently have installed. So in your case you might rename the application Pro Tool 2022.6 in the Applications folder. Then you can install 2022.9

I don’t know if this is the right way but it works fine for me. On my Mac I just go into my apps folder, rename pro tools to something like “pro tools 7” and then just install the update.
