Younger (i.e. smaller) code? Software engineers who stick around (instead of hoping to other companies) and are intimately familiar with the app? Less beta testing? I don't know either, but yeah it's amazing how quickly some companies stay up with technology.

Logic - they have the inside track, being owned by Apple.

Cubase - since they've had Cubasis on iOS for a few years, they probably had a leg up with working in ARM, porting the basic functionality already.

Studio One, Reaper - Less/Newer code?

But who really knows?

How many hardware firmware updates do you reckon Steinberg, Logic, Studio One or Reaper issued for their DAWs in the last 18 months? Avid has provided two for HDX. There really isn't a lot of similarities between Pro Tools as an intrinsically hardware-linked DSP DAW platform and other native DAWs in that regard.
