Default tempo timing with midi mpc motif chain

I am using a pc and pt. I have my mpc2000xl hooked to my mo 6 and my mpc connected to pt all via midi. When i get ready to dump all the instruments into pt the timing is way off. Ill take off the conductor symbol and put in the tempo i used while making the track. When i press rec in pt the tempo is totally different. It may be too fast or too slow. Ill then turn the conductor on and set the tempo in it and the same thing happens. Im not sure whats the problem. I have the mpc2000xl and mo 6 set up in my midi studio options in pt but it didn't provide the 2000xl and mo6 automatacally but I just typed in the name myself. Could that be the problem thats throwing off the tempo or what could this be?
