A musical instrument/ recording equipment rider to your renters/homeowners insurance stipulating "full replacement value" should do the trick and I believe $20,000 is the number that gets you there.

What kind of equip insurance??
Sounds like some of you have invested serious $$$ into some fine recording equipment. What is the best way to protect yourself in case of theft or fire? Do the usual homeowners insurance policies cover Digi's, pre's, mics, guitars and keys? If not, what type of coverage is needed? Any recommendations or past experiences? Thanks!
