Default 12.5.1 not available in Application Manager

As of this post, AFTER updating the Application Manager to version 2.5.6.12065

My Application Manager indicates that I have the current version of Pro Tools:

12.5.0.395.

My Pro Tools Upgrade plan is current.

So, no, this is not working. I detest the applications manager, it just does not work despite repeated announcements by Avid that it does. Buggy software is a horrible thing to inflict on your customers.

I have been a Pro Tools user since 1996. My verdict on this whole "Application Manager"?

STOP IT. IT DOES NOT WORK AS IT SHOULD, AND IT REFLECTS POORLY ON YOUR COMPANY.

Further, now I have to install each of the updateable plug ins on the list ONE BY ONE.

I used to have to manually update Pro Tools and any plug ins manually. This Applications Manager means that I have to manually update the application and the plug ins. This is not an advance in technology. Avid, look around and see what other software companies are doing. And then, do that.

The update is probably not available thru the app manager at the moment as stated in the Technical Alert:

"Pro Tools 12.5.1 Downloads and Information

Please note:
Pro Tools 12.5.1 is only available via Avid Account at this time
Pro Tools Edu products are still being processed

Which proves that this application manager, is not managing anything. I think they need to either make it kick ass, or get rid of it. I've had to deleted preferences, pray to the software Gods, burn special incense in the studio, and do a special native dance, just to get this horrible software to sort of work.

Isn't it supposed to make our lives easier, not harder?

I am going to do just that. It seems too much of a PITFA to use.

Yep. I did another install yesterday and application mangler gets automatically deleted. Somebody clearly waved their hands and had folks try to copy exactly what Adobe does with Creative Cloud. Sans apparently the technical ability, product management or QA.

What were they thinking. And every Pro Tools First user gets saddled with the same unusable bloated slow garbage. For a lark I put First on a slower older Macbook Pro the other day, within minimum systems requiremnts on a new El Crapitan install like many newbies would. The thing is compelty unstable and I cannot get it to work. Given those users presumably have/little or no experience with dealing with Pro Tools I'd imagine this is an excellent way of making sure all those users never buy another Avid product

I like to have the application manager specifically for letting me know when plugin updates are available. Other than that, it's very buggy. Takes forever to synchronize, and some times has to be closed and relaunched before it will successfully synchronize.

There is an uninstaller somewhere in your Avid folder in your Applications folder.

I can't remember exactly... I uninstalled it
