Default Mavericks (OSX 10.9) Not recommended yet

As with every Apple OS upgrade, Protools (any version) is not ready to go. I understand that it takes time to test and fix issues. But It just seems that every software developer company normally get to be on the inside track to test and update their software before the OSX release. It may be me (having a bad day) but Avid is always so far behind in this respect. It is as if they are surprised by Apple's releases and then must begin to work on fixing the issues from that day. Isn't Avid in on Apple's developer network? Or is the fact that Apple has Logic somehow preventing Avid from having advanced access to develop updates in preparation of an OS update/release. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upgrading to Mavericks on my Protools rig anytime soon. It is running super stable right now and I want to keep it that way. It would just be nice if Avid can crank out compatible releases in a more timely manner. I guess I'm just venting today.

Had a play with 10.3.7 in 10.9 today on my non-critical setup. Works pretty well actually. Command-A doesn't seem to work which was weird. Nugen LM Correct is making up numbers. Otherwise, yeah, pretty good.

I didn't push it hard though so there may be many other problems under the hood - be careful for sure!

I'm sure they are close, because in the matter of fact, PT actually runs on the new OS which is nice. Once they have those "findings" fixed life is good again :)

Hoping they will work on PT10 ..
developing it cost.

Yes they have had their time with beta releases, but as far as Avid is concerned the real work begins with the GM, and this time even the GM release changed before the real release! What I'm trying to say is we simply cannot expect PT be available "since day one". We want PT to be rock solid.

You're running PT 10 on OSX 10.6.8 and you're complaining PT11 isn't ready for OSX10.9 one day after it comes out ?!?!

Yeah. I'm whining a bit here. I upgraded my kids computers to 10.9 and it's pretty sweet. I'll keep my PT rig at 10.8.5 for now. It's been several weeks since I posted but still no word on the fix yet.
