10.2 Crash on Exit?? Windows 7

Hello everybody. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a crash when exiting protools 10.2 on Windows? It allows me to save the session, but when I try to close out, immediately crashes. Other than this, 10.2 has been a real pleasure to work in.

I would appreciate any feedback on this.. Thanks guys/gals!

Not here. Running quick and smooth, no problems at all.

10.2 has been the best update experience I've seen with PT.

I totally agree! I am loving it! Maybe I will do a quick reinstall and see what happens. Thank goodness the freezes are gone! Holy smokes!!

no crashes here, at least not yet (fingers crossed..). Everything's been great for me since 10.2 :)

Did you do a complete uninstall (including HD driver) before you installed 10.2?

This is still happening, even after a fresh reinstall. Mac Users are reporting the same thing. Anyone out there having this issue?

Worth posting a Sandra report. Its fine here(and each 10.x version has also been fine) so maybe its a hardware issue, or a forgotten system tweak(you should review those and make sure ALL are done).

Like you, I have experienced a "crash" message for Pro Tools 10 on Windows 7 immediately after closing the program. I tried every version of PT 10 from 10.2 to 10.3.7 trying to figure out why. Was I missing a Windows Update? Was there a problem using ASIO4ALL? Registry errors? No clue!

I was about to reformat my PC and buy a new audio card when I decided to try PT 11 and see if I still got that crash message which gave almost no information about the cause. Low and behold, PT 11 also crashed when closing but this time I received some information "ProToolsQuickTimeServer.exe" has stopped working.

I immediately gutted my system of anything related to QuickTime, iTunes, and Apple and Pro Tools 11 started to close without any errors!

I then when ahead and tried to re-install PT 10.3.7 and received an error about missing QuickTime components (which PT 11 had no message about). After doing a fresh install of QuickTimeInstaller774.exe I booted up PT 10 and closed without issue!

I spent many hours and days working this out and made an account here solely to post this in hopes of helping you guys, good luck!

I AM TRULY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR EFFORTS AND CONSIDERATION AND I WILL GET OUTTA BED IMMEDIATELY AND WIPE OUT ALL TRACES OF QUICKTIME APP AND FILES from my recording rig RIGHT NOW!!
