how to make a track repeat?

hey,

i'm sure this is really simple but how to do this is eluding me.
i just want to select a section of the multitrack session
and make it loop over and over again

i know there are the little blue flags at the top, and also the yellow repeat icons
but i have no idea what they're for?

is there an online manual for pro tool essential?

Do you mean loop playback or a repeating section in the final mix?

I'm not familiar with PT Essential, but you would go into loop playback mode by control (or maybe alt) clicking on the play button in the transport..

The reference guide should be accessible from the help menu

or Right Click choose Loop (if its the same as LE and HD)

It is. Thats right click the play button on the transport and select loop. You will also need to select the area you want to loop by click dragging along the time line.

Check out "Dynamic Transport" in the Reference Guide.
