All the new stuff looks great, still no ADC in LE though. DOH ! Probably the single most asked for feature...

As a MPT owner, who paid what's essentially the full price of the likes of Logic or Ableton just to get a few more audio tracks, I'm itching to find out how they're gonna manage the MPT v2 upgrade.

I should imagine when if you upgrade to PT8, you'll automatically benefit from the extra tracks..

Very surprised about the lack of ADC. At least no mention of it so far anyway, though I'd have thought it would be a big selling point if it is on its way!

Some nice looking features, so I'm not complaining, just disappointed!

Like Logic? Pro Tools doesn't have a separate audio edit window. But looks like you can dock the score as well.

Yes. Very cool. That and finally being able to see and edit multiple midi tracks in the same edit window.

A little feature I thought was cool (we'll see how it actually works) is the ability to rank (1-5) regions - great for comping. Say, do one pass and eleminate a few regions that are ranked 5 or something.

They had me at 48 tracks right out of the box...finally, it has as many tracks as Cubase LE - which comes free with some hardware.

Although it's possible that it will be higher, I don't recall any paid upgrades costing more than $75. Even if they charge $199 for this, it will easily be worth it. This is major stuff...

I'm kinda surprised that they didn't announce any new stand-alone AIR instruments. Transfuser has been out for a little while now.... They must have been concentrating on the bundled plugs and hopefully they didn't choose quantity over quality...
The A.I.R. team has done a great job of putting out several instruments in a very short amount of time. They also did the development for the new, free, instruments and effects in Pro Tools 8.

What they'll be doing now is improving the current set of A.I.R. instruments and fixing some bugs that need to be addressed.

Don't worry, though - we're not stopping development on new A.I.R. instruments...!

You can get ADC in LE with a $29 plug-in:

That's kinda what I was figuring. I'm just curious how the "pay to use" AIR stuff will differ from the "included for the price of an upgrade" plugins in the future. Seems like Digi is kinda squeezing their own market a bit.. Not necessarily bad or anything, just a bit different from what we've seen so far...
