PT23.9; Eucon Unstable & Buggy

Hey all,

Having a bit of a mare with Eucon and PT23.9, graphically track selection is freaking out and everything generally seems quite unstable.

Anyone else having issues? Curious if Eddy has a support update on the cards.

What macOS version are you running? (looks like your signature is out of date)
If the macOS is correctly listed, you might want to upgrade it to macOS 11.7.10 instead of macOS 11.6.

(Also this looks like a Pro Tools issue and not a Eucon issue but it probably has to do with the macOS graphics engine which often is updated with point releases on macOS)

I have a similar situation on 2 Win10 machines.

Not as intense as in your Video,but quite like it, if I select a track in the timeline the colored borders flash about 2 to 3 times, then the flashing stops.

If I turn off the EUCON devices ( S1 and Dock an Ipad on one machine, or Artist Mix, Dock and Androit Tablets on the other machine ), ProTools shows normal behavior.

The "registry Eucon fix" did not change anything.

Current Eucon is 23.6.

Make sure you are on that version

Sorry signature is quite out of date.

Running macOS 13.6; Eucon 23.6; PT23.9

Faders on my S3 are jumping around as the track selection is in that screen grab. All is well if I disable Eucon.

Displaying what tracks are selected on a control surface won't have much to do with Eucon. It's the same type of display (highlighted tracks) if you were running a HUI controller. The problem will be with Pro Tools and how it renders those graphics. But most of the time, these issues have to do with Pro Tools using some feature of the graphics framework that is only supported in later operating systems/drivers. On Macs, the driver only gets updated with macOS versions.

As for you, which exact version of Windows are you using? (Not just "Win 10" but is it the 22H2 version (release Oct 2022)?) There have been different frameworks in the different versions of Windows 10 and Pro Tools 2023.9 might be using one of those to render graphics.

That's more interesting as it shows a 2-way issue.

Have you hard power-cycled the S3 (pulled plug, wait a second, put plug back)?

Are you using a tablet (Control app) too or just the S3? If you are using the app, inside the app > settings > General, turn off "App Banks DAW" and see what happens.

Maybe I was not clear enough about the colored border flashing, it looks exactly like in TrentWilliams Video.
If I click in the timeline, which will select a track, the colored border around nearly all tracknames start to flash like a christmas tree for a short time.
In a normal situation it would show, that these tracks are "selected" via EUCON, because they are present on the control surface. The correct term for it is "controller focus border", as I see now in the manual.

Just one S1 connected is enough to show this flashing.

Win version on one of the machines is "Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3448)".

The other machine is out of reach for me today.

Following this patch-fix, Eucon is working a lot better, not perfect, but a lot better.

Track selection GUI no longer jumps around the window, but isn't accurately showing banked tracks.
