VERY NICE APP Pete!

I don't need it often, so that's why i always forget where these files are. This is a handy tool to overcome that.

Would be nice to add aliases to impulse response files from Altiverb, Avid Space Waves and McDSP Revolver too.

The legendary Fokke! Used your impulse responses many times so thank You too.

Ok, I'll have a look at those in a couple of weeks, busy at the moment.

Default Info about "protools pref & database helper"

hi

i work on a mac (os 10.8.5) and protools 10.3.9 with a digi003. i want to clean my system. i downloaded the protools pref & database helper software and i'm not 100% sure of what i have to check. I did not find precise answers regarding my gear.

for me "digisetup.osx", "dae prefs folder", "protools preferences", "com.digidesign.protools.plist", "digidesing database folders", "volumes folder" have to be moved to the thrash, is that right?
although i'm not sure about the "com.apple.audiomidisetup.plist", "by host: com.apple.midi.xxx.plist" and "com.digidesign.coreaudiomanager.plist".

It's generally best/safe to check ALL options though read below first.

The MIDI and Core Audio ones are less likely to need deleting. No option is dangerous though, all settings can be remade (manually). The only one that could be time consuming is if you delete the Workspace in 11 and you've used that to store information on custom collections (sound effects/albums etc). Unfortunately that database is encrypted so I can't pull out that information separately.

A great addition would be a function to save the user defined soft keys for the Artist MC control, Artist Control and S3. They are stored in:
/Library/Application Support/Euphonix/UserSets/MC2User/MC_USER_SET__Root
and are called Pro Tools 11Mac.xml or Pro Tools 10Mac.xml.

And; when upgrading from PT10 to PT11 these user sets are not automatically copied. To use the set made in PT10 also in PT11 you have to duplicate Pro Tools 10Mac.xml and rename it to Pro Tools 11Mac.xml.
Maybe this could also be done with your neat app!

Thanx! Fokke

Hey Pete, hope you're really well Sire. Will your latest version of the Helper work with PT 12 ? I'm running it on an HDX 1 rig with OS X 10.8.5

Let me know when you get two minutes.

Alex

Well well well Mr PT12, how are you doing?!

Should be fine but I'll check, I don't think any path or filenames have changed.

Cheers,
Pete

Here is a link to one of the threads for it to see its capabilities.
And a big thanks to you Steve. Trasher is a great utility for those of us on the Windows side.

Pete, thanks so much for a really useful utility! I used it for years, but I'm in a corporate environment where our IT department has inexplicably decided that DropBox poses a security hazard, so now that I'm on a new computer I can't access it any more. I wondered if there exists anywhere a non-DropBox mirror hosting this download? Thanks again!
