Default Apogee Rosetta 800 with x-series firewire card

Hello guys~

I need an urgent help regarding compatibility between rosetta 800 (x-series firewire card) and pt11.

Will these work together?

I am pretty sure it will work with pt10 but I really need to know if this setup will work with pt11.

Thank you!

I'm using Apogee DA-16x and AD-16x with the Apogee X-HD card, Protools HDX and running PT11.1.

I'm not sure if the X-HD card is the same thing as the X-Firewire card though? The X-HD card is the one that makes the Apogees emulate an Avid HD Interface.

XHD is different and is well documented in the Apogee pdf's. They say that you can use multiple XHD's just like you can use multiple Avid HD's.

FireWire -- I have no idea. I have let myself understand that it is only one FW interface, but I would be happy to stand corrected.

Thank you for your reply~

However, I already know that x-hd works perfectly fine with pt11hd system but I need to know if the rosetta with firewire works with pt11 software (not the HD).

I really think that it has to do something with the apogee driver for x-series firewire card but i do not know if the current version will work with pt11.

I think you should contact Apogee and ask the question. I think one interface should work as "aggregate" but it is really up to them whether more will work as well.

EDIT:

Rosetta is not the point here. It is the X-FW card. If multiple Rosettas work with X-HD then multiple Rosettas work, period. Apogee needs to tell you whether their X-FW cards can be made work together.

I can confirm that the Rosetta800 with a firewire card works with PT11 (and 10 too). I have one here working.
I have the one with both 400 and two 800 ports and i have to use the 800 connections on my Retina MacBookPro and Hackintosh.

I cannot go down to 32 samples playback engine though, have to use 64.

Thanks very much Fokke van Saane.

So, you are 100% sure that rosetta with x-series firewire card works with pt11, right?

Is there any adjustment I need to do or is it really just plug and play?

I also have retina macbook pro and is currently connected thru thunderbolt adapter to firewire and firewire to rosetta and running mavericks.

So, I shouldn't have any problems?

Thanks again.
