I have just started testing all other apps on 10.9 using a dedicated testing machine. I heard that PT10 is a no go, but I haven't tested this myself yet but I can only assume if Avid have acknowledged issues then it will not work properly. Anyone actually tried this yet?

It seems like Avid has been able to resolve the problem with Protools 11 and OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) by releasing drivers for the hardware. Or at least that is what it sounds like when I'm reading the announcement. Or did they also release an update to the Protools 11? I did not see anything for Protools 10.x however. If the main issue was the drivers for the hardware, wouldn't it work on my Macbook Pro with no hardware (Just the built-in speakers and input)? And if I were using a 3rd party interface, is it just a matter of getting the updated drivers from that manufacturer? I'd like to hear from those of you that are running Protools 10 on OSX 10.9 (Mavericks). Thanks for trying it out for us.

Just to clarify. My Mac Pro is in cold storage at the time and therefore has not been updated since OSX 10.6.8. I'm using my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion). Any one try running both PT11 and PT10 on the same OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) computer yet?

I'm sure you know that you can't have a dual install on 10.9.X - ie no 10.3.7 / 11.0.3 on the same machine with 10.9

Yeah, that's what I read, BUT there are always those out there that might try it anyways. Just as some are running PT 10.3.7 on OSX 10.9.x even though Avid says there are issues. I have a hard time leaving my RTAS plug-ins behind for now as I don't have the AAX equivalents yet therefore I'm still on 10.3.7 but would like to dable with PT11 a bit.

Initially 10.3.7 in 10.9 for me Quits "Out of Memory"
However I found eliminating the Native instruments .dpm plug-ins (Only the ones with AAX32/64 equivalents) resolved this
and 10.3.7 now is running (Unsupported of course).

Just to be clear, did you eliminate the RTAS versions of the plugin or the AAX ones? Thanks

Yes, RTAS (.dpm which are the RTAS plug-ins).

I have older NI plugs still working and did not remove them (B4 II, Spectral DDL...)
The NI Komplete 9 are now AAX64/32

Now I don't use them in 10 as they are fine in 11.
But if I were there is a run in 32 checkbox (app get info) that may need to be ticked.

I also have gone through my application support>Digidesign>plug-ins folder and removed any others that are redundant
with AAX versions. (Application Support>Avid>Audio>Plug-ins)

Some like Alloy2 need both (.aaxplugin & .dpm) as their AAX is 64 bit only.

Still note this is not an approved combo and my test system is a Mountain lion clone then upgraded to Mavericks.

Durring this typing I was in PT's 11 working on 124 voiced 5.1 session, closed and quit 11 and now am in PT's 10.3.7 with the same session.

So the question is, will PT 10 ever be supported in Mavericks? As it stands now 10.3.7 is not even officially blessed with ML 10.8.5..and that was released in early October. It's not a tragedy if it's not supported…I'd just like to know one way or the other. And if ML is where it ends…I'd like to at least have an official blessing to move to the latest update.
