distortion recording in

can anyone help me?
Ive got the free version and Ive put it on my pc and on my friends pc, both have exactly the same operating system and both have sound blaster sound cards. The problem is on mine I get distortion when I record in, other programs such as cool edit work absolutly fine, its just pro tools. Ive tried every button and changed every setting but it still does it and its driving me up the wall. Has any one got any suggestions?

no I get the same distortion but just from stuff ive recorded in

So PTFree is not able to record correctly. I have a SB live card too and had big problems with it. But an alternative driver fixed my problem.
So if you use your PC for music and not for games with surround sound, if it´s enough for you to have "only" stereo sound, go to http://come.to/sblive and click on "Audio Production Studio". There you find an alternative driver (ver 1.84) for SBlive cards. It works perfectly on my system, I have a better performance and a better latency. And if you need, you will get ASIO support for your SB card (PTFree doesn´t use it)
But first uninstall your original drivers!!!
