No OutPut No meter? What?

So, I like to use my sends as outputs because I can SEE clearly what I'm sending to, especially with complicated sends. So, in ProTools 11 I noticed I'm not getting any metering on my channel if I have nothing in my output even though I have many sends? Any way to change this? This is bad…
