You still have to purchase the extremely stupid HD extension, and esb as well.

I was looking for the info on the esb addition to logic 6.
what they say is that they haven't created it for os x yet.

so they built automatic connections for tdm users to plug in in the aux section.

are those available for everyone?
or could an aux insert be limited only to owners of the extension?

i shelled out for esb tdm, i have not been sorry.
while i feel it shoudl have been implemented in Logic Platinum as a natural part of the flagship tdm version's abilities, it is very nice to be able to shovel off processing jobs to the native side, and run vst plugs, au's, as well as many instruments that are not available as tdm plugins.

still, the update notes make it look like it's built in.

maybe i better go read it again.

I know software engineers need to get paid, but having to pay $$$ every month to keep up to date is becoming ridiculous. Every software company is charging for upgrades, yet the upgrades are usually not completely finished and buggy (pt6, logic 5, core audio drivers). I like early upgrades, but they should be free until the bugs are worked out. Do you think the emagic HD extension really cost $400/per user to develop, or do you think they are just trying to gouge high-end users who can afford it?

Anyways... has anyone gotten logic 6.1 to work with tdm?

I can't get it to work, and I haven't heard any success stories yet.

It's working fine here, but I'm using OS9. I'm assuming your question was in reference to OSX. the day I'll transfer over to that seems to be getting further away, not nearer. And I agree with your sentiments, BTW.

p.s. did you notice that Logic TDM now has a little Allocator clone under the audio menu?

So far so good. No more "esb" plugin- just use the inserts to choose the esb channels. Best of all NO MORE OMS !!!! that thing has been giving my evolution midi controller hell when I use it with logic control. Now everything is silky smooth. I'm going to install my reason 2.0 tonight. I have been running my logic tdm system under logic 6.0 in os9. Now I can't wait to have EVERYTHING in osx. One thing though, I still haven't received my authorization code for MAXIM even though I sent out my 6.0 registrations months ago. Anyone here already receive it? I'm gonna call tech suport to see whats up with that. More 6.1 reports tommorow.

one very cool thing I don't think was mentioned in the 6.1 read me file was the new Tdm usage meter. It lets you know exactly how much juice you are using up on each chip.

Greetings,
I have had Logic lying about for a while - dutifully upgrading even though I use Protools exclusively now. However, would like to check out the latest version. I have an XSKey for LAMP 5. I see on Emagic's website it says the 5 users can try out 6.1 for 28 days. I crossed my finders, loaded the XSKey driver, then 6.1 and launched Logic. It says it won't work without a valid 6.1 code. Any suggestions on how to make it work?

thanks,
Jared
