Default DAE Error -6006 after upgrading to PTMP 7.4

Hi,

I have just upgraded to Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4. I've been using 7.3 up to this point on an XP machine (SP2, Q6600) without any issues with a Firewire 1814 card.

So far I have tried a reinstallation and trashing any leftover prefs from my Application Data folder.

This is the only mention I could find on the issue, which didn't help much since the card is recognized by the system, the driver works great, I am able to use the card with every other app, and as I mentioned earlier, it worked fine with 7.3 so it's not a firewire card issue, nor a bus power issue. I'm using SP2 and use the internal sound card for all my system sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm currently locked out of PT..

I had the same problem a while back and it seemed to coincidentally line up with a software upgrade. Turns out the interface was defective. I chased my tail forever, got a replacement, and everything was fine afterward. Try going back to 7.3 and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for your input Duckhunter!

I do have an update!

A few days after my post I took my comp to be fixed as my motherboard was giving me some problems (I had to switch on countless times until the computer actually turned on).

As it turns out, the motherboard (ASUS P5K Wi Fi) was faulty. The guys at the shop installed a new one for me. Next time I launched PTMP 7.4 it launched fine!

Now it's time to check out Elastic!!
