Sounds to me like your in 'group' display mode. There are 5 different display modes for the fader strips :

You change these modes with the 'disp mode' switch which on the D command in located under the do to sel button (D control too fwiw)

1. track name : obvious ... displays the track name

2. group + name : this is the mode your in I think. It displays the group that the track is a member off. For example 'a' or 'b' or 'c'. In case the track isn't assigned to a group you will see a '-' in front of the name. Also, if the track is a member of 2 or more different groups, the group index is displayed as a capital ... 'A' for example. Oh, and since we're talking about faders here of course it will only display 'Mix' or 'Both' groups ... not the 'edit' groups.

3. Channel Number : This one displays the channel number in front of the name

4. HR .... headroom ... Depending on wether you are in Pre or Post fader mode, this will display the amount of headroom left. This headroom is calculated and refers to the headroom value you set your interfaces to. The 192 is factory at -18 dB. I adjusted them to -14 for more convenient use of my outboard. So I also set -14 in the preferences. You can 'clear clip' to recalculate the HR value. It will announce positive values if your under your HR reference level and negative values if you go over it.

5. Level mode .... yup ... displays the level your fader is positioned at

Hope that helps.
