Default Multi-Mono Trim Plug-In on Stereo Track?

Does using a multi-mono trim plug-in on a stereo track cause any issues? Are there any sonic consequences to doing this? I remember reading a warning about being cautious with multi-mono plugs on here, but I can't recall the what/when/where of it. I'm doing Post on a commercial and have a stereo FX track I need to lower in trying to incorporate a unity gain workflow. Thanks!

This is what this plug's for. If you have PT10 you can use Clip Gain.
