Please help me

Hi, I really need your help. I can't get recording with pro tools. I've got the m-box mini and everything is set up to go but each time I try to record, the needle stops and I get asked to try reducing buffer size, then when I do that, another sign comes up saying increase it. It's driving me bananas.

I came on here a month ago and changed my pc setting to 'cache' and 'background programmes' and then it was working perfectly. Now, that I'm actually ready to record something, I put it on today and it's gone back to this old 'freezing' problem again. I'm ready for giving up this whole thing, I really need to be able to start recording or it's back to the studios.
