Windows 7 won't recognize my Mbox 2

Can somebody help me? Windows 7 will not recognize my Mbox 2. It was working fine I dunno what happened it won't detect it anymore. I re-formatted my computer, re-installed ProTools, and downloaded the latest driver and ProTools update. I don't know what to do. Here's what I have:

Mbox 2
ProTools LE 8.05
Windows 7
Compaq Presario
3gb memory
AMD Athlon X2 4450e dual-core processor
250gb hard drive

I searched the forums and didn't see this so sorry if this is a re-post.

Two possibilities:

1. Driver problems
Try to uninstall and re-install the driver (from the device manager)

2. Mbox problem
defective Mbox or defective USB cable

Try a different USB port as well.

When I tried to go to the device manager to try to uninstall and re-install, it came up as an unknown device. I tried a different USB cable and tried several USB ports. Any other suggestions?

I already tried that update and still nothing. I don't wanna pay $39.99 to talk to customer support lol

Take your Mbox to a local music store that sells Pro Tools and plug it in. See if it works.

I tried plugging it in to other computers (with ProTools installed) and it still doesn't work. Isn't there a way to disable it and re-enable it or something?

mines is getting a weird static robotic noise i have pt le 8.0.5 wit hthe beta drivers i did a fresh instal from 8.0.0 to .0.3= .0.5 unstalled drivers and installed the beta like it said didnt have the mbox connected through the whole install but when it told me in 0.3 im in stuck mode any solutions?

I figured it out! Uninstall, go back to Pro Tools 6.0 for editing, and use Logic Studio 9 for creating music. Since Avid took over, Pro Tools 8 has died. And don't even get me STARTED on the 6086 error messages - same fix.
