Default mbox 2: how is anyone using this?!?!?

I just purchased an Mbox 2 for potability (have a 002r for home stuff) and I need to know how anyone can use this? The monitoring level on the headphone is TOO LOW. I have tried headphone impedances of 23ohms and 45 ohms and both are terrible! I can't even play an acoustic guitar lightly and hear a track. routing to a headphone amp defeats the purpose of the portability. My hearing is acute - so that's not a problem. How is anyone using this?

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

Very sorry to hear that you are struggling. I have the mbox 2 and for traking and monitoring I have at about 14:30pm (2:30pm) setting on an analog clock and it's perfect! Really never had a level issue with this... I think you may have a faulty unit.

Take it back!

Sorry again...

I didn't know you could use the MBox to filter water! (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Also, never had a problem with the levels on the MBox 2 phones.

Could it be the impedence of your headphones doesn't match the mbox well?

It is with much humility that I post this. Lincoln nailed it. Not only have I NOT read the manual OR Quickstart guide BUT I didn't even bother to carefully read the face of the unit! Alas, the issue is not with my hearing, but rather, my vision :)

Thanks guys, it works fine with the mix knob properly adjusted.

Mmm... humble pie. I take several helping a year. :)

Glad it was a simple fix.

Ha ha ha. Took me a minute to get that one.

Glad you got it worked out, nozzles. I hate when the answer is something right in front of my eyes, although that beats having to take the unit back.
