Automation lane size not remembered

One of the little issues I've had lately is lane size not remembered correctly in some sessions. I save them as micro....but some lanes insist on saving as medium. The thing that is most perplexing is that it's not consistent to every session, every track or every lane for that matter. On a track that has 3 lanes showing only one of them won't stay as micro.
I've reported this to Digi....who insist it's a plugin causing it. But now that I've printed all my VI tracks on this album all that remains are mostly AIR and 112db plugins. I've trashed prefs and gone through all those Digi recommended steps and it would be nice to get to the bottom of this issue. Any help on this would be most helpful.
