2021.7 is a red hot mess here. Zooming in on a track in a simple three audio track session caused PT to freeze and crash.

I've gone back to 2021.6 which was working well.

2021.7 is working far better on my 8-core Mac Mini M1.

However, the temporary beachball freezes still occur - rarely, compared to 2021.6 - and graphic glitches like a black 'boxes' on the edit window still happen as well. The latter issue goes away when I zoom in and out.

So far, these are the only bugs.
I'm on Big Sur 11.4.

This is not good news. Looks like I have to stay at 2021.3.1 for now. I even had a ticket with this issue and closed it as it looks it's not a my system issue but pro tools.

I think Avid should put its efforts into making pro tools silicon native compatible and not through Roseta. The Intel version runs way better than the optimized version...not good.

Hope they are working on it.

Been uneventfully running .6 since it came out. No beach balls or errors seen. Installed .7 this morning. Finished one mastering project containing ~10 tracks and had no issues at all. Opened a session of one of my tunes with 45 tracks and a lot of plugins. Played it back, did some edits and all seemed as expected. No error messages or slow downs at all.

Well I upgraded. Runs way better, no more beachballs, just had one...but maybe it was for another reason.

But there are still some graphic glitches like
- when you change tracks hight it flashes.
- also there are some slight flashes on mix window where the inserts and sends areas.

And some other anomalies:
- memory doesn't come down when you close session.
- with heavy loaded sessions sometimes 2 cores are at 90% and the other 2 at no more than 20%

There is a big lack of performance because of only using 4 cores on M1 Macs, I really don't understand why Avid keeps thinking this way is better...

Those upgrading: are you trashing PT Prefs after the update? Historically, this has brought solid stabilities after updates. Using the previous PT Pref file can cause headaches, some of which I'm reading about here. Trash and recreate your prefs.
