Default PT 12.5.2. HD native system which OS is best?
hey guys
I was wondering if at the moment 10.10 or 10.11 is the better way to go and more stable
I have my system running on 10.9.5 right now pretty stable but some of my apps are recommending 10.10 min now so I´m thinking about upgrading...

Yosemite works great here. People seem to have way more issues with El Capitan based on what I've read, but haven't tested it myself.

This is my experience too... 10.11.3 and PT12.5.2

One thing I would say is that if I open big sessions from about a year ago, my system struggles to run them (same hardware and RAM, different OS and PT version)

They would have been put together on OS 10.8.5, PT10.3.5

I've not managed to figure out what the culprit is (could be PT related, could be OS related or could be Vienna Ensemble Pro related) but definitely able to run less VI channels live (that's always the hog for me... My orchestral template is pretty massive...)

But back to the original question, El Capitan has been fine for me.

12.5.2 HD Native on 10.11.3 as good as any of the more stable combos I've used over the years. I always find these things are dependent on what the job entails though. At the moment I can't get it to crash when mixing even with intense plug-in action; VIs and Elastic tend to increase the instability somewhat. (Plus ca change...)

and recording 24+ tracks?
