Default Difference between Command 8 and ProjectMix IO???

Hello

Can anyone please tell me the difference between Command 8 and ProjectMix IO?
I'm using M-Powered Protools, thinking of getting this new toy here.

Thanks
Gary

ProjectMix I/O
-Control surface and audio in/out
-Has HUI mode, MCU mode, MIDI mode.
-Works well with...??? We don't know yet but it looks like it will work well with a wide variety of apps.
-Designed by M-Audio prior to Digidesign buyout.
-Has M-audio Firewire 1814 guts.
-Unknown build quality

Command|8
-Control surface only
-Has "Command|8 personality" mode, MIDI mode.
-Works great with ProTools...not so good with anything else.
-Excellent build quality

I'm using a lot more Logic and Reason these days than ProTools, so I'm thinking of unloading my Command|8 and possibly getting a ProjectMix instead. The Command|8 is really a great product...awesome build quality and great feel. But I need something that will work with Logic better. My Command|8 is in mint condition and less that year old. Let me know if you're interested.

I just got my ProjectMix IO Friday...so far, so good. Up and running with PT 7 on my 15' powerbook 1.5ghz. OS 10.4.3.

As for the build quality, I would call it excellent. It is much larger and sturdier than I anticipated, and the control surface is quite intuitive even for a dummy like me.

I will be happy to answer any questions that I can...I realize that there isn't that much hands-on information about this gear just yet.

Yes, it works with all versions of Pro Tools that support HUI. PT 7 TDM, LE, and MP.

Hi, how do you connect it to your powerbook ? Firewire ? What system do you use ? I was looking for the ProjectMix for a Mpowered system and to add faders to my Digi 002 with PTools 7 when at home !
I would highly appreciate any informations...

It is worth noting that the control surface itself will work with all the versions of Pro Tools.

However, if you want to actually use the mic pres or any of the input channels (eg. use the PM I/O for the actual tracking process) then you have to use Pro Tools M-Powered 7.0 or above.

(Disclaimer: I do not actually own a PM I/O but from all the research that I have been doing on it, I am 99.9% sure that this is true)
