The pres are better then a thought.
Although I would never use 16 of them, I like my flavours. Better than mackies where a lot of people I know use 24 off.

The board itself is great, although I still cannot get out of using the mouse.
If you read the board you will find the only probs with them.

I would like to hear what others think of the pre's too. I haven't bothered hooking mine up in favor of my outboards, but it would be nice to hear that they are good to use when I run low.
I was thnking of hooking them up for keyboard inputs, since the other inputs have no gain for keyboards.

I find them no better or worse than what was in my O2R. They're more than adequate for everyday use. They're not Neve's or Calrec's or API's etc. They just do the job when you need some extras.

How would you guys describe the sound of the mic pres in the Control 24? For example, I'd say that API sounds warm, and a little buzzy, Mackie XDR sounds neutral and cool, Summit sounds fat, Behringer sounds edgy and muddy.

You get the idea... What kind of sound do you get out of the Control 24? Based on that, would you use it on a particular source?

The pres are great!

Just finished three days of drum recording, with many of the mics going thru the C24's pres.

They are precise, clean and have lots of headroom. Much better than Mackies, and (surprise, surprise) clip much later than Focusite Platinums!

We tested some pre´s very hard with voice(TLM103). And with an Speaker in front of the Mike.

The conclusion don´t buy this thing for the same price you can buy many outbord pre´s sounding much more better. Too bad for serious Music Recordings. And for PostPro the faders are too loud when doing sounddesign jobs (klick,klickkkk,klickkk,...) all time.

the mindprint envoice(only the pre´s / don´t tested the rest) sound´s very much better (best price/sound value, near to the focusrite red 8 our favourite pre´s ).

Joemeek sounds good a litle bit to much bass (good for bass recording).

02R sound very hard one of the worsest pre´s ever heard, the Control24 are really better.

TLA Ivory are bad but not as bad than 02R

Control24 pre´s sounds a little bit muddy and a little bit crispy.

Oh yeah the clacking... You can turn the faders off if you want to right? I'd also like to know how bad it gets. Is it just when the faders hit the top and bottom of their limits or do they clack all the time they move?

I only hear "clacking" when I close a session and the faders go to the bottom
