Upgrade to PT 10

Hi,

I have an 11R purchased in Nov 2009 and it came with PT 8LE. Am I entitled to an upgrade to the latest PT 10? If so, how do I get it? And if not, then how much will it cost me?

Also, I will want to run it on a Lion iMac as well as a Snow Leopard MBP. How do I accomplish this with the same license? Or can I?

You can get the "discounted" upgrade to PT10 for $500. It uses an iLok so you can move it from computer to computer. Not sure about supported OS's.

As richpjr correctly stated, you are not entitled to a free upgrade. You can crossgrade to PT 10 from LE8 for $499 or if you have PT9 its $299.

Also, as richpjr has said, PT 10 (and PT9) now use an iLok for the authorization where before with PT LE it was the inteface itself that enabled PT LE to open. You can install PT9/10 on as many computers as you have, but you will have to plug in your USB iLok key that contains the PT9/10 license so you can open it/use it.

So if you do not have an iLok key, you will need to buy one, as the crossgrade does not include an iLok key. You can buy the "full" box version of PT10 for $599 or $699 and that does include an iLok key.

a iLok v2 key cost about $50 new from a major retailer.

Or, if your local music store has a new copy PT9 on the shelf, you can buy it (we have 2 in stock, selling for $599 CAD). Since it will have been purchased new after 1 Oct 2011, about 24 hours after you register PT9, you'll get an email advising that you're entitled to a free upgrade to PT10, and giving you a link to the download.
