Delay compensation with outboard gear
Hi, I'm trying to use delay compensation to adjust for latency when sending to outboard gear. I've recorded the return from the outboard gear (gear in bypass mode) and measured the latency as 120 samples. If I introduce an aux input track, set the input to the return from the outboard gear, and set the user offset to 120 samples, it appears to double the latency to 240. If I set it to -120 samples, the latency remains at 120. (I've determined this by panning the original track hard left and the aux input track hard right and routing outputs 1 and 2 back to another track and recording/analyzing it.) As far as I can tell, a negative number is equivalent to setting delay compensation to zero. Has anyone seen this? Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! |

Re: Delay compensation with outboard gear
Ugh. Ok, I'm new to TDM and I've just discovered the wonderful world of hardware inserts. Next time I'll RTFM before posting. Sorry. |
