Hmm, Nord Lead 3 or modular and something else?

Can anyone comment on the Nord Modular/Micro to the Nord Lead 3? Is there ANYTHING the modular can do that the Lead 3 cannot? I'm looking at buying a NL3 but I've been reading alot of cool stuff about the modular. Thanks!

Anything the NL3 can do, the Modular can do. The modular can do so much more though...Say you want a synth with 8 oscillators, 3 envelope generators, 5 LFOs and a vocal formant filter followed by a standard lowpass filter, its easy to set it up! You can assign up to 18 patch parameters to knobs on the face of the unit on a per-patch basis(and more via the use of "morph" groups).

The big difference is the UI - the NL3 has just about the sexiest UI out there. Plus, all the routing on the NL3 is hardwired of course...

nord lead 3 is a cool synth .
nord modular synth or rack (not the micromodular , although i have that one and i love it, but if you want to compair it to a nord lead 3 you`ll need the extended rack or synth)
is a cool synth and an effect box also .... run your audio thru it and modulate it ! distortions, compressors , chorus etc.....
in september there will be an update for the modulars so expect more effects and possibilities !
