Default HELP: \"workspace\" browser-I don\'t have \"appropriate access\"

As I try to preview audio in the "workspace" window, the task window tells me: "You do not have appropriate access"
How do I import/preview files in "workspace" if "find" does nothing? (7.4 on OSX 10.4)
Thanks!

If I open the workspace browser, it's empty, and in the task window, it shows that listing the workspace has been paused, and the status is that I do not have appropriate access.
I've got a drive that needs to be set as R, and I can't change it because I can't see it in the workspace.

Have tried repairing permissions, running as an administrator, opening access to everybody to read/write/execute.
Will be trying deleting access control lists next (there shouldn't be any on the drive, but what the heck).

Same problem here, anyone figure this out yet? No -5000 error, wiped prefs, repaired permissions, restarted, no luck. Any help would be great. Thanks.
