Tyan Quadzilla isn't booting anymore

So I built a Tyan Quadzilla almost identical to Shan's computer about a year ago...it's been running fine until recently

It's been taking me a few tried until windows boots...I push the power button on my computer, and nothing happens...I shut down, and repeat about 5 times until it finally boots...anyone know what the problem could be? It's really pissing me off...

My first suspicion would be the hard drive. (Next time you successfully boot up, make a back up!) It might be simply a cable being loose or something like that but it could also be worse. Secondly, I would suspect the memory. Try reseating those. Thirdly, I'd suspect the power supply. There is no simple way to check this other than to swap it out and see if it gets better.

My vote is for the power supply, I would go there first. (IMHO) And yes, always back up your data, and if possible in two places.

so I tried getting another power supply, it had the same problem, so it wasn't the power supply...for the past week, I've been turning my computer on and off until it started...I think I might have done it one too many times..

Today, it wouldn't even boot...I've tried swapping out my power supply with another one, tried swapping out my system hard drive with a new one...still won't boot...

I feel helpless and I need this compute running now....I'm almost tempted to buy a G5 this second.

Anyone help?

I have built he very same quad. I had problems early on that sound exactly like you describe. It was bad Motherboards. My third one finally worked. Might be worth a call to Tyan.

Yep, not totally uncommon, it took three replacement ASUS K8N-DL boards to finally settle down here.
