confused using 11R mic input with Logic 9
Hi everybody.
Yesterday I tried to record some vocals via 11R mic input into Logic. To bad I didn't succeed. Recording the mic input in Protools does work. (In Pro Tools I can simply select "mic" for input) In Logic I can see the inputs of 11R (1->8) And recording guitar is no problem. (input 1 for unprocessed sounds, input 3 for moddeled sounds) I tested all other outputs to get the mic input but no signal. I also tried putting the input selection on 11R to "mic" But then the mic signal gets moddeled in 11R. (and I don't want that) Basically I would like to record vocals straight to Logic. Using 11R as a digital interface. And at the same time record guitars (modelled via 11R) to Logic. Anybody have an idea what I do wrong? Thanks for your help. Jesse |

Re: confused using 11R mic input with Logic 9
I don't know what your problem can be. I also use Logic 9 and it works just fine:
Input 1: DI Guitar Track Input 2: Microphone Input 3: Guitar Modeled L Input 4: Guitar Modeled R (the rest I don't know by heart). I do however have a problem sometimes and that is when I have the vocal track record enabled and then just start playing back the song. From that moment on I'm not able to hear the vocals anymore. But, if I have the vocal track record enabled AND also start recording I can hear the vocals just fine. It is possible to record: Your DI guitar track, your vocals and you modeled guitar track at the same time. I do it all the time in Logic :) |

Re: confused using 11R mic input with Logic 9
I use a mic with Logic 9 and the 11R with no problem.
The unprocessed mic signal comes out of input 2 in Logic. Be sure to check the mic gain control on the 11R front panel. The signal can be quite low when the signal is not going through the rig. Also make sure the phantom power is on if you are using a condenser mic. If you select the mic as the rig input on the 11R, then the processed signal will come from input 3 and 4 in Logic. |
