Removing unnecessary overdub files
I worked on a long (17 hours) session with a band in my studio this week-en. We nailed 5 songs for a high-quality demo CD.
Anyways, we created more than 15GB of data, but most of the data is files of multiple takes, and I'm only interested in keeping the current take for each track. I looked in the manual but didn't find the answer. How can I permanently erase all but the current files and save space on my disk?

Re: Removing unnecessary overdub files
In the edit window, click the "audio" tab above the bin where all your session audio files are. Then in the menu that pops up, go to "select"> "unused Regions" or "Unused Regions except whole files". Whichever you select, those files will be highlighted in the bin. Then once again click the audio tab and then select "clear selected". You will then be given the option to "remove" or "delete" the selected files. "Remove" only clears the files from view in the session (they will still be in the session audio folder) and "Delete" will remove them from the hard drive.

Re: Removing unnecessary overdub files
Do the 'Delete Unused Regions' thing then save the session using the 'Save Session Copy In ..' command. Check the saved files load and play, then you can either delete or back up the original files to CDR. Check the new file sizes - loads smaller because you've only saved the visible files.
