I paid today for the EDU extension to the support plan and upgrade plan. Fortunately I downloaded 12.5 beforehand - now it's vanished. I got an email from Avid celebrating my purchase ('thrilled' was the word they used) but when I followed its instructions and logged into my Avid account it says my old plan has expired and that I should renew! How can a modern IT focused company make such a ****-up of this kind of thing? Is paying for the support plan so that we can access support in order to sort out problems with the support plan? My head is spinning...

This is surreal - to contact Avid about the lack of a support/upgrade plan appearing in my account, I have to access the support portal. But this won't open - presumably because my previous support plan has expired and the new one has not appeared. Take your money and then send you running round in insane circles... Note to self; Keep on with learning Studio One...

may i sincerely ask what the Rush is ?? it just came out .. might be best to let others do some testing 1st ..
just .02 .. and just disregard if you have a need for features or fixes now ..

I also have the same problem. Only see PT 12.2 in my account although avid application manager shows 12.4. (Still waiting on 12.5)

And the saga continues....
So I jumped on PT 12 early, enticed by the extended support coverage. One of the main reasons I jumped early was the promise of cloud collaboration....was very interested. So.....I bit. And then when 12 was released it took far longer than it should have to be delivered, even though I purchased early.(resolved by Jeffro, thanks again). So.......one year and three months pass, the length of my extended support, and still no cloud collaboration. Support expires 3/31/2016, I get an e-mail 4/1/2016 announcing the release of 12.5 with, wait for it, cloud collaboration. Download is not in my account, naturally. Unbelievable..... Hello All,
We have noted the case # at the bottom of your post for those that have cases in progress. If you have a Student/Edu copy that includes 4 years of free upgrades and your original purchase was within 4 years prior to the release of 12.5 then you will see your installers in your Avid account within the next couple weeks. If you still need assistance, please start a support case from the Access The Support Center section of your Avid account, or from here if you do not have that option. Best regards, JC |
