Default Time manipulating tools

How good is the "Elastic Time" feature in PT 7.4 HD / Windows?

We need time stretching and compression tools, and our engineer is saying that the quality of the standard "Elastic Time" feature in PT7.4 is not good.
He is saying that he needs the "Pitch'n Time Pro" plugin to get professional quality.

Has anyone used both and can give me some comments?

Thanks
Tomio

X-form is a very good pitch shift/time shift tool.

I have only really had bad effects when I try to push it beyond it's limits which are very wide, I think about 80% it's original size or when the algorythm is not suitable.

I have even shifted an entire mix many times by 30 or so seconds with no artifacts.

Thank you for the suggestions.

My main concern is,
How bad is the standard "Elastic Time" feature in ProTools?
Is it terrible? Not usable?
Is it good enough for most purposes?
Or am I forced to buy 3rd party plug-ins?

My engineer is asking me to buy the "Pitch'n Time Pro" plugin, because the default PT "Elastic Time" feature is unusable, and I just wanted to check with everybody else first.

Thanks
Tomio
