However, there's a great little workaround out there from Salvator of Tritone Digital, called MuteTone.

Working well on my test system with Lion. Might be an idea to go to "audio midi setup" and rebuild from within there. I didn't have to do such, but trying to think outside the square.

I have the same system as you, and experience the exact crashing problem, it was fine on my another macbook pro which is 10.6.8.

As much as I love the plug in I would much rather have Avid add this feature to the software so it can be incorporated into the code and software.I mean it can't be so hard ?Looking forward to a full pro version of 9 in the future.

this issue trips me out, something needed to have a proper work flow in a native system, and to me seems like oops we forgot something here, not a upgrade but a cs fix.

if you don’t understand why this is needed please don’t cop an attitude toward those who do…
I have seen that over and over, it does not help with a true problem in using non avid interfaces, or outboard gear….screws up peoples work flow…it IS a problem…

The plug in seems like a great work around, unless your on a windows computer, or use, as I do a
command 8.

It is needed, most all other daws have it, and I would have it as well …if I was using an avid interface ….LLM

Please avid adress this issue.
