HELP! Jerky Meters, Counter, and Scrolling
Ok, I've searched the answerbase and tried all of the recommendations:
*Energy Saver Control Panel is On and set to never *I've zeroed out the memory setting for DAE and PT *Disk Cache is set to 512k. The jerkiness remains but ONLY ON CERTAIN SESSIONS! It has nothing to do with how many tracks are being used or plug ins or anything but some sessions play back jerky every time and others not. OS 9.1 PT 5.01 G4 Yikes MixPlus Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks! evan |

Re: HELP! Jerky Meters, Counter, and Scrolling
-Are the "normal" and "jerky" sessions all playing back from the same drive?
-If possible, copy the sesssions to another drive and see what type of performance you get. -Track Transfer one of the problematic sessions into a new session file and see how it performs. Brent |

Re: HELP! Jerky Meters, Counter, and Scrolling
I experience the same symptoms but I finally figured out what was causing it for me. Whenever I have OMS Application loaded at the same time as PT this happens. After I quit OMS, the session goes back to normal.
Probly not the case with you, but i thought id put it out there... MT

Re: HELP! Jerky Meters, Counter, and Scrolling
Thanks for the suggestions!
Brent: I have tried playing the files back from different drives and I get the same problem. I have also tried Saving Copies with all the audio files and the problem remains. I will try doing a track transfer and see if that helps. I wonder if the sessions files got corrupted somehow. I dunno. I am hoping that creating new sessions and importing all of the tracks will help but I'm try to save that as a last resort so I don't have to consolidate all of my edits. |

Re: HELP! Jerky Meters, Counter, and Scrolling
I have had this problem before as well. When it happens to me I change my zoom setting i.e. zoom out and then zoom back in. The problem then goes away. Could this be a video card memory issue?

Re: HELP! Jerky Meters, Counter, and Scrolling
Evan - Your movie window is probably trying to play on a monitor that is hooked up to something other than your video capture card. Try this:
Guessing that your have a Jeronimo2000 AGP dual monitor card, "Show" your Movie Window. If it comes up on a monitor that is hooked to the J2K, move it to a monitor that is not hooked up to that card. If this is not an option, take the movie offline and close the Movie Window. If the Movie Online option is greyed out, you'll have to create a video track, import a quicktime movie (doesn'y matter what), take the movie offline, and clear the video track. Hope this helps.
