step one install Eucon 3.2.1 - hum what next

Hi - I'm new to Eucon terms ...so I am scratching my head a tad trying to get my new shinny artist mix up and running on my PT 11 PC win 8.1 system

What I've done so far is

1. installed Eucon 3.2.1 - shut down
2. plugged in Ethernet cable to mix and PC - restarted
3. launched PT
4. enabled Eucon
5. made coffee...wondering why things were not working

any and all thoughts would be very welcome

Which version of ProTools? Eucon 3.2+ works best with 11.2.1+.

yes, I am on PT 11.21 (the trial)

I have noticed that the Eucon Control (which opens from my system tray) is not recognizing any surfaces...perhaps that is the core of my trouble?
thoughts?

hum still no luck lurking around the knowledge base - it appears that things should have connected automatically (ha ha, or at least that's what happens in the marketing videos I've seen on youtube - ha ha - sorry, I had to!)

in my Eucon Control software - I have

1. no surfaces,
2. under My Workstations (my computer 'Production Box' has an 'x' beside it,
3. 'Workstation' appears under both headings - those being 'All Workstations' and under 'My Workstations' with an Attached remark beside it

Hoping this brings a moment of inspiration to any that have fallen down at this step before.


Oh, and I turned of my Windows firewall - just in case - still no luck.

I'm guessing that my Ethernet card is not being recognized by Eucon

Have you connected the surface directly to your pc using a crossover cable or is it via a switch / router?

Hi - I have used the Ethernet cable that came with my artist mix to connect my computer to my artist mix - was this correct...I don't know what a crossover cable is (unless it's the included cable?)

A crossover cable enables you to connect two Ethernet devices directly. Modern computers should auto detect. Try connecting it via a router or switch connected to your router - the surface might not be getting assigned an ip address.

interestingly, I looked at a 'Euphonix virtual MIDI' under 'Sound, video and games controllers' within 'Device Manager'

then a window opened in the Event Viewer saying snap on was ...something or other...

This may have zero to do with my situation - just felt the need to report it - as it was euphonix related experience

A router - I may try that this weekend - ha ha - I'm indeed getting to the point that I may try anything (including 'forsale by owner' ha ha - ouch...the longer I keep at this...the more I feel my sanity floating away...it comes back ....right???? as one sheds themselves of technology...ha ha...ouch)

Hi - when I press the 2 page buttons on the artist mix it does give me an IP address...not certain where I should look next - any and all thoughts are very welcome

What is DHCP? - grasping at straws here - but when I I power-up the artist mix while holding down the 2 page buttons - I get an option to use DHCP - I have left it at it's 'yes (default setting) no luck as of yet
