Recording live show (suggestions)
newbie question here...
i've been asked to help record a live show. i've been told ill be using two 192's that will give me 24 inputs. the band wants to basically run from FOH directly into Pro Tools. there will be several venue staff there to help get this all set up. all i have to do is run PT while the band is playing. 1. since im totally new to live sound recording, does anyone here have any advice as far as working with PT in a live setting? 2. what is the max time limit for one session in PT? (i cant imagine the set will be longer than an hour.) 3. is there any specific things within the program that i need to set up prior to recording? (to avoid any system crashes and such) 4. im guessing all level settings will be controlled by the FOH engineer? if something starts clipping or distorting during the performance, is there anything that i can do within the program to fix this in real time? sorry for the questions. any info would be great. |
