Default ProjectMix I/O with PT M-Powered 7.4 gone mad!!!

It started out really well with me and my ProjectMix I/O control surface, but last week it began going wrong. The audio display had been acting a bit funny for a while, but suddently it started turning randomly on and off. Now it is practically off all the time and when I use the virtual mixer in protools, it stalls constantly. I have downloaded the latest driver and upgraded to protools 7.4, but it makes no difference. The entire system is acting stranger everyday and I am at my wits end, since I doing music for this movie and really need my gear to be allright. I can still record through the audio inputs, but it runs slow and is a mess mixing anything in PT right now.
I hope someone in here can give me some advice. I am using windows XP.
Sincerely

GAGA-Productions
