Hello experts. been a while since I posted a thread, but I could really use some help. I have recently installed PT 2023.9. Previously I was using 2020.12.1 all was good, thought i would upgrade. I am using a Mac Pro 5.1 OS Mojave. When launching PT freezes. Anybody know why... OS Mojave. SystemRequirements says they are no longer testing but it should work. I have 128 GB Ram, 12 core Intel Xeon processor. Have currently gone back to 2020.12.1 but would like to get current. Thoughts and advice welcomed. Thanks

When exactly does Pro Tools freeze? What exactly do you see on the screen? If it's while plugins load it's likely the plugin before the one you now see on the splash screen (that's been discussed a lot on DUC).
Otherwise you need to work through standard troubleshooting. Starting as always with trashing prefs, testing using the mac build-In sound device, testing removing .aaxplugin files, etc. See under "Help us help you" up the top of each DUC web page. Hopefully you have been reducing upgrade problem risks by doing new clean installs on macOS. Last edited by Darryl Ramm; 11-15-2023 at 09:22 PM.

Isn't this the Sketch thing? Sketch loads automatically on 2023.9 and hangs on older OS - you need to remove Sketch from the PT package on an older machine/OS. Right click on the Pro Tools app to: /Applications/Pro Tools.app/Contents/PlugIns/System Plug-Ins, and move Sketch out of there.
