Default Recommendations for music notation - transciption software

Does anyone have a recommendation for a music notation/transcription software for printing out musical scores, lead sheets, chord charts, etc.? Are there any that can read MIDI input and automatically transcribe into musical notation?

Thanks.

Unequivocally Sibelius.

haven't used Sibelius, but it's supposed to be very easy to learn and use.
that said, i've never used anything other than Finale [version 2000]. I'd change a few things, but i've cranked out too many scores to count on this. Finale and Sibelius are the standards.

Son of David

You might look at Sebileus (sp?). I downloaded the trial version and would like to use it. It is 5-600? but there is a rate (3-400?) for an educator/student.

That said, I use Melody Assistant:

It's a shareware program that actually works pretty well. I have been able to write fairly extensive charts with it. Not very well documented but I've managed to find my way around on it.

There are others too, Cakewalk for example or even Logic (which has chart notation built into it.)

I beleive they all work with midi to input notes etc. I know mine does.

Good luck
