Default Mixing Out of the Box

What's the best way to route if I want print the mix to 2 tracks in PT? ? I have lots of outboard dynamics and EQ that will be patched in to outboard console. Can I simply take all outs to the board from the interface, do all the outboard patching and mixing, and send the 2mix from the board back to 2 spare inputs on the interface to 2 tracks in PT? Or do I need to come in to a buss in PT first before printing to 2 tracks?

The inputs will work either way going straight into tracks in record, or going into an aux track, then bussed to a record track. I'd probably go into an aux first in case you wanted to do some plug-in processing in the final stage.
