Elastic Audio on distorted guitars
Ever tried Elastic Audio on distorted guitar? Tough job. EA finds it hard picking up warp markers unsurprisingly. The more distorted the guitar the worse it gets.
So.... When you record a mic'd distorted guitar, record a DI signal at the same time. Create an edit group of the the two and then enable Elastic Audio on both. EA will easily pick up the warp markers from the DI'd track and because they're edit grouped, the warp markers will be applied to the distorted track too. Works a treat. Job's a good 'un as we say on this side of the pond. P.S. The DI'd signal also comes in handy if you need to re-amp of course.

Re: Elastic Audio on distorted guitars
Good idea, I might not use it on guitars but it can be useful in other situations. Thanks for sharing!
